Bars..Pubs…Restaurant Owners Must follow the prescribed rules : Mayor

DR.B. Rammohan, Mayor appealed all the owners of the Bars/Pubs/Restaurants to strictly follow the prescribed rules for obtaining Fire Safety Certificate from the Director, Disaster Management, GHMC by downloading the application form from the GHMC website i.e., www.ghmc.gov.in on or before 30th August 2018.

Mayor said that it is the very simple form which can be filled easily giving all necessary information in the prescribed proforma after application scrutiny and verification of plans by the Disaster Management field inspections will be taken up by the concerned teams ad will explain about the precautionary measures to be taken for fire safety measures in their respective business establishments.  Those who failed to obtain the fire safety certificate will be viewed seriously as per the rules Mayor added.

DR.B. Rammohan, Mayor, Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC,  Viswajeeth Kampati, Director, Vigilance and Disaster Management Cell along with the owners of the Bars/Pubs/Restaurants held a review meeting today at the GHMC Head Office.

The Commissioner interacting with the owners said that the meeting has been conducted to have a clear understanding about the procedures to be adopted for obtaining the fire safety certificate in the interest of the citizens safety.

The Commissioner said that approximate cost of firefighting equipment for 1000 meters area of the floor will be approximately from Rs. 30,000/- to 50,000/- every owner must apply the application for the fire safety certificate before 30th of this month failing which the business establishments Bars/Pubs/Restaurants etc., will be seized without any further notice.

Viswajeeth Kampati, Director, Vigilance and Disaster Management Cell given a power point presentation that how to obtain the application form from website and appealed the owners to create awareness among their associations to apply for the fire safety measures to prevent any untoward fire accidents in the near future.

The owners after filling of the application must submit at the Head Office but not on online to have a clear verification of the applications. The seating capacity of the Bars/Pubs/Restaurants etc., more than 50 persons will have to obtain the fire safety certificate said the Director.

The teams will inspect the premises of the owners after proper verification of the application and will explain about the usages do’s and don’ts and will clarify about the procedures etc.,

During the interaction some of the owners placed their doubts for which the Director, Enforcement has clarified and explained in detailed about the precautionary measures to be taken to prevent fire accidents.
