Communication is the key for Rural Development – Dr. G.Narendra Kumar Director General, NIRDPR

Officer Trainees of the Indian Information Service (IIS) visit NIRDPR

 

Hyderabad, October 22, 2021 – Communication plays a key role in rural development which helps to bridge the gap between governments and citizens said Dr. G.Narendra Kumar Director General, NIRDPR.
Interacting with a group of Officer Trainees of the Indian Information Service (IIS) of the 2020 batch at NIRDPR at Rajendranagar , he said that government communicators play a key role to promote and dessiminate the various flagship programmes to the grassroots level where it matters most.

A one day orientation programme on “on Rural Communication” was conducted on Friday to IIS Officer Trainees.
The officers were briefed about functioning of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and rural development programmes across the States.

Planning and implementation of the various rural development programmes by the Rural Development Ministry like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGES), Deen Dayal Upadhyay –Gramin Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY ),Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana –Gramin PMAY-G etc which help in strengthening livelihood oppurtunities were briefed during the session. .

Dr. Akansha Shukla Associate Prof Head( CDC), Prof, Dr. Jyotis Satya Palan Professor, Dr. Sandhya Gopakumaran, Special Joint Director Training DDUGKY, Dr. Katiresan Associate Proffesor & Head CGARD conducted the session for the officer trainees.
Dr. P. Manas Krishna Kanth, Deputy Director PIB, Varganti Gayathri Media communication officer PIB including Officer Trainees Ashish Goyal, Sri Sai vempati, Balanagendran D,Anurag Kumar K have attended the session.
