NEHRU YUVA KENDRA TO ORGANIZE FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN 2.0 AS A PART OF AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV
Hyderabad, 11th August 2021 – Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports as part of celebrations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav-India@75 is organizing the Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 throughout the country. As a part of this programme, on 14th of August 2021 Nehru Yuva Kendra Hyderabad is organizing a District Level Freedom Run at the iconic Charminar with 75 participants at 7.30 A.M. Various programmes would be conducted across 75 colonies of Hyderabad with around 5,700 youth participants.
‘Fit India Freedom Run’ was conceived last year when the nation was dealing with the COVID-19 Pandemic and the need for maintenance of fitness and being active was felt even while following the covid appropriate behaviour. This year, Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 would continue till Gandhi Jayanthi, i.e 2nd October 2021. The objective of the campaign is “FITNESS KI DOSE AADHA GHANTA ROZ” to exhort the citizens to resolve including physical activity of at least 30 minutes in their daily lives.
Nationwide programmes will be virtually launched by Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur and Hon’ble Minister of State, Youth Affairs & Sports, Sh. Nisith Pramanik on 13th August 2021 wherein organizations like BSF, CISF, CRPF, Railways, NYKS, ITBP, NSG, and SSB would also join the run virtually from iconic locations across the country.
The key activities of Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 include undertaking pledge, rendering of National Anthem, Freedom Run, cultural functions at venues, enhancing of awareness among youth volunteers to participate and organize similar Freedom Runs in their respective villages. Citizens can register and upload their run on Fit India portal https://fitindia.gov.in and thereby promote freedom run on their social media channels with hashtags #Run4India and #Azadika Amrit Mahotsav.
