One notorious Diverting attention offender by name Smt Sirivelli [email protected] Ragula Shyamala was nabbed by CCS Malkajgiri, Rachakonda and as per her confession recovered 32 Tulas of Gold Ornaments, – at her instance, all worth Rs 9,60,000/-.
The sleuths of CCS Malkajgiri on credible information rushed to Uppal X Road area of Uppal PS limits and apprehended the offender Smt Sirivelli [email protected] Ragula Shyamala W/o: Venkaiah Age: 55yrs Occ: Cloth Business Caste: Padmashali R/o: TRS Complex, Kallurupally road, near Bhaskara Hotel, Housing board colony, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh and on thorough interrogation she confessed to have committed (13 cases) attention divertion in Rachakonda Commissionerate limits (11), one case of Hyderabad Commissionerate and one case of Vemulawada Police station of Rajanna Siricilla District. The Police have recovered 32 Tulas of Gold Ornaments all worth Rs 9,60,000/-.
PREVIOUS HISTORY OF THE OFFENDER:
In the year 1979 she got married but soon there were some disturbances due to which she left her husband and went to her mother and started living with her mother. Thereafter after few years she again got married to another person at her native place. During the course of her marital life she was blessed with two children, one baby boy and one baby girl. Thereafter her second marriage also ended up due to some disputes. Further she has performed her children marriages, due to negligence attitude of her son and daughter she left them also. Later she went to Srikalahasthi of Tirupathi where she got introduced to two unknown ladies who forced her into prostitution but as she was not willing she somehow managed to escape from them. Later she got introduced to an unknown lady who has offered her to safeguard some Gold ornaments, accordingly she took the said ornaments and returned back to her native place. Later after few months i.e, in the year 2000 the same lady insisted her to come to tirupathi with the ornaments given by her, as such she went to tirupathi where the CCS Police, tirupathi have apprehended her and recovered the Gold Ornaments which were hide by her. After recovery of the property the CCS Police, tirupathi have sent her to Judicial Remand. After her release from Judicial custody she went to Amalapuram and established a mobile clothes business and there she got introduced to attention divertion gang. Thereafter she has learnt how to steal property by diverting attention.
MO-1: Stealing Gold Ornaments from Old aged women/widows who move singly near by
the Piligrimages. She mainly targets the persons who take out the ornaments and go
for bathe by keeping the ornaments in their bags.
MO-2: Stealing Gold Ornaments from old age women/ widows who travel singly. Firstly she
introduces herself and speaks to them until the targeted women gains confidence in
her. Thereafter she offers tea or cool drink by mixing the drink some drug/medicine.
Once the targeted person becomes unconscious she steals the property from them.
MO-3: Stealing Gold Ornaments from old age women/widows who travel singly in public
transport system i.e, RTC Bus or Auto. She targets the buses or autos which are
packed full and when ever she gets chance she opens the bag of the targeted
person and steals the property what so ever is available.
Note: (She obtains pain killer medicines from Medical Shops on the pretext of body pains
and uses them to intoxicate the targeted persons)
In the year 2007 she was arrested by Krishnalanka Police station of Vijayawada City where she confessed to have committed 6 cases of attention divertion and Krishnalanka Police have recovered a total of 20 tulas of Gold Ornaments. After recovery she was sent to Judicial remand. After completing the complete trial period she got released from Jail. After her release she went back to Amalapuram and continued her mobile clothes business. As her business was not running well again in the year 2015 she started committing offences.
Since then she has committed (13 cases) Attention divertion and ordinary theft cases in Rachakonda Commissionerate limits (11), Hyderabad Commissionerate (1) and one case of Vemulawada Police station of Rajanna Siricilla District.
