The government of India on Friday exempted some more areas from the ongoing lockdown to deal with the corona virus. These include construction activities in rural areas and allowing water supply, sanitation, electricity, non-banking financial institutions and cooperative credit societies to function throughout the country.

Tribals and forest dwellers exempted from lockdown till May 3

 The Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said in the guidelines sent to all states and union territories that tribals and forest dwellers from lockdown to May 3 in collecting, harvesting and processing other trees, other forest produce except timber trees Discount will be given Bhalla also said that construction activities, water supply, sanitation, electricity, telecommunication lines and cabling are being allowed in rural areas. 
Permission to work with minimum staff during the shutdown  Non-banking financial institutions, housing finance companies, small finance institutions across the country are being allowed to work with minimum staff during the bandh. Bamboo, coconut, arecanut, cocoa, spice cultivation, their harvesting, processing, packaging, sales and marketing are exempted during lockdown.
