Popular Comedian Gundu Hanumantha Rao is Nomore

Tollywood Famous Comedian and Veteran Actor Gundu Hanmantha Rao has passed away. He has been suffering from health ailments from a very long period. When his health condition got deteriorated his  family members admitted him in Erragadda St Theresa Hospital for diagnosis. The Telangana Government as well as the MAA took initiative and decided to support his medical bill. Today at wee hours he was expired at 3.30 a.m at his residence at SR Nagar. He was survived by his son who has returned from US to take care of him. 

He was a noteworthy senior Tollywood comedian who was born in Vijayawada. His parents names are Kantha rao and Sarojini Devi. His Elder Father(Peddananna) Krishna Bhramam is a renowned singer. During 14 years of age Hanumantha rao enacted in a stage drama called “Ravanabhramma”. At the age of 18  he shifted to Chennai there he portrayed a stage performance, which was noticed by Famous Creative Director Jandhyala. He observed his caliber and offered him a golden oppurtunity to act in a comedy film “Ahana Pellanta” in 1987. This movie became huge hit and remained as a milestone in Hanmantha rao’s career. 

Later he signed up a lot of comedy films and entertained the masses up to peaks by portraying different challenging roles.This famous comedian acted in 400 films He also appeared in small screen through Amrutham Serial which fetched him lot of popularity and in within a short span of time he became a house hold name and rendered by millions by viewers. In 2010 his Jhansi Rao got expired in a tragic accident at the age of 45 years.He bagged three  Nandi Awards from the previous AP Government for his performance in Television serials which was aired in channels like ETV Telugu,DD Saptagiri,Maa tv and Gemini . All the film fraternity went in vein hearing his sudden demise. His death is a huge loss to Tollywood and nobody would replace his role.

Some of his noteworthy films which was applauded by critics are Yamaleela, Babaihotel, Annamaya, Criminal, Mrugaraju, SamaraSimhaReddy, Pappu, Ghatojgatudu, Mayaalodu, PellamOruVelthai, Rajendradu-Gajendradu, Apparao Driving school, Highschool, Colors, Panchamukhi, Manobalam and so on. He was last seen in Sri Sai Sankalpam in 2016.

CM KCR conveyed his  condolences to his beloved family members and friends. All the film fraternity deeply mourned and paid final tributes to his mortal remains.May his soul rest in peace he will always be cherished by cine lovers for his contribution towards comedy.
