Today the world renowed physicist cosmologist Stephen Hawking has expired at the age of 76 years. He died peacefully at his residence in Cambridge in the early hours of  morning. The Briton was famous for his work with black holes and relatively wrote several popular science books ”A Brief History of Time” At the tender age of 22 Professor Hawking  was allotted  only few years to survive after being diagnosed with rare forms of motor neuron disease. Due to his prolonged illness he was left in a wheel- chair and he was unable to speak except through  a voice synthesis. He was survived by three children Lucy, Robert and Tim . They further quoted that we are deeply mourned by the sudden demise of our beloved father.

Stephen William Hawking born 8 January 1942 – 14 March 2018), was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge. His scientific works include a collaboration with Roger Penrose on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity and the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation, often called Hawking radiation. Hawking was the first to set out a theory of cosmology explained by a union of the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics. He was a vigorous supporter of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.

His death is huge loss to modern Physics.
